Doctors Ann and Charles Dolin purchased Essex Animal Hospital in 1995 and have dramatically increased the size of the practice and scope of the services provided to clients. We now have the highest quality veterinary medicine available in the area and we provide it in a relaxed, caring, family-style environment. We are warm, caring, compassionate people.

Most of our Bloomfield veterinary hospital staff has been here for 10 years or more. By seeing the same faces every time you visit, your pets will be more relaxed, calm and comfortable. We provide care the "Essex Animal Hospital" way.

We all have pets of our own and have gone through the same joys and heartbreaks you have. We know what your pets mean to you. We promise to treat them as if they were our own.

Our appointments are never rushed. We take all the time necessary with each of our clients to make sure you fully understand what is happening with your pet and what the options are. Our goal is to partner with you on your pet's health care needs.

Please give us a call or an email so we can show you how we can help your pets and your family.

Our goal at Essex Animal Hospital is to provide high quality veterinary care to your pets and in order to continue to do that we also must operate as a business. Therefore, we require that full payment be made at the time services are provided. If your pet needs to be admitted to the hospital, we will provide you with a written estimate of anticipated fees, and will require a sufficient deposit prior to beginning treatment, with the balance to be paid at discharge. Please remember this is only an estimate and since your pet's medical needs may change we may occasionally deviate from that estimate. We will always keep you informed if we anticipate any significant changes to your pet's treatment cost.

For your convenience, we accept a variety of payment methods, including cash, debit cards, credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) and personal checks with sufficient identification.

We accept all forms of pet insurance. We offer interest-free financing and payment plans to qualified individuals using a Citi Health Card or through CareCredit.

If you have any financial concerns, please consult a staff member before any services have been performed.
