Dr. Dolin is originally from Fair Lawn, NJ. He did his undergraduate work at The Ohio State University where he met his future wife, Dr. Ann Dolin. They both graduated from The OSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 and have been practicing together at Essex Animal Hospital since 1995.
Dr. Dolin and his wife, Dr. Ann, complement each other during the workday. Their different approaches to medicine are beneficial to the practice. "When we have a difficult case, we often consult each other. An approach from a different angle can often solve these challenges. I think this benefits the animals tremendously."
Dr. Dolin and Dr. Ann have become known as those “crazy Pug people”. Beginning with their first rescued Pug, Biscuit, they fell in love with the breed and are now owned by three others – Darla, Penny, and Cody. It is quite comical at times to see them taking their dogs for walks – three dogs, moving at different speeds in different directions, getting tangled in three leashes! The Dolin’s also have three other children (the two-legged kind), none of which will be following in their parent’s footsteps. In his spare time, Dr. Dolin enjoys hiking and snowshoeing, anything on the water – fishing, boating, kayaking – and is an avid amateur cook (emphasis on amateur).
